Shakespeare for Schools – ‘Romeo and Juliet’
Following the success of ‘A Midsummer Night’s Dream’ 2020 and 2025, ‘Romeo and Juliet’ 2021, ‘Macbeth’ 2022 and ‘The Tempest’ 2023 we are looking forward to bringing back ‘Romeo and Juliet’ to educational settings in June/July 2026!
Team AJP will be offering practical workshops for schools, letting students take part in the action and proving that Shakespeare is fun, funny, still relevant and not just a GCSE set text!

We will be providing a full day of activities all based around Shakespeare’s ‘Romeo and Juliet’ suitable for school groups of all ages. A perfect educational treat for students in The Midlands.
All of our Shakespeare for School’s activities and performances can take place outdoors in Studley (weather permitting) or indoors at your school and focus on getting the students up on their feet exploring Shakespeare’s text in a fun and relaxed environment. Students will also be given a unique and interactive look at life of Shakespeare, his family and his career to enhance their understanding of his work in context with his own experiences.
We aim towards enhancing pupils’ enjoyment and understanding of Shakespearean text, whilst building confidence in their approach to Shakespeare regardless of their age or ability. We can accommodate KS1 – KS5. We also provide bespoke workshops for SEN settings.
If you are interested, please email contact@auntyjenproductions.co.uk or use the contact form. We are happy to discuss your requirements.
There will also be public performances of ‘Romeo and Juliet’ – make sure you’re following our social media pages for the most up to date announcements!

Our Artistic Director Jennifer Rigby creates the workshops and directs our specially adapted productions. Jen’s specialism is Shakespeare. She worked as Actor/Manager and Drama Education Officer at Shakespeare’s Birthplace Trust for several years before spending 12 months with the Education Department at The Royal Shakespeare Company.
Jen is currently an Associate Artist with The ESU, working with them on their Performing Shakespeare Competition. This year the Grand Final was in the Sam Wannamaker Theatre at The Globe!
Jen feels that Shakespeare should be accessible to all, and this is reflected in the way that we approach the text. We perform indoors or outdoors, with minimalist set and costumes, and always maintain a lively sense of humour
